My Approach

My approach is based on creating and maintaining a calm, supportive, and safe environment in which we can work towards your goals. I believe that people have the capacity to grow and change, and the inner resources to do so. My role is to help guide clients to these inner resources, and support change that focuses on establishing more effective life strategies.

I offer a flexible and collaborative approach to working with clients as each person brings their own unique experiences, values, beliefs, and ways of coping. I therefore draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to best suit each individual’s needs. These approaches are rooted in compassion and offer clients the opportunity to explore their emotions, thoughts, actions, as well as new ways of being. When appropriate, my approach may also involve teaching new skills and providing research-based information.

Couples Therapy

I have a special interest in working with couples, and relationship issues. For some this may mean working to strengthen their relationship, while others may be seeking support in order to separate peacefully. Together we can work to identify and resolve unhelpful patterns, improve communication, and increase understanding for one another.
